Additional PTA Funding provided for the 26 teachers and specialists at HM

Earlier this school year, Horace Mann PTA adopted a budget for 2020-21 that allocated $100 for each classroom teacher and specialist (26 total) in Distance Learning. Additionally, we created a $5,000 fund at that time that is available for all teachers and specialists to apply for special requests. In order to provide additional support for our teachers and specialists returning to in-person school next month, the PTA increased the classroom allocation by $250, thus providing all teachers with a total of $350 this year. Recognizing that all teachers and specialists may have needs as they transition to either in person learning or VLS, this increased amount is available to all teachers and specialists whether they are returning in person or not. Additionally, the $5,000 fund is still available for teachers/specialists to apply for special requests and additional enrichment opportunities for our students. We know that teachers are continuing to do tremendous work in our Horace Mann classrooms, whether transitioning to in person learning or VLS, and are providing these additional funds to support that work.
